If you submit your district billing using the state software PES, there is a new version available that you will need to download for the ICD-10 transition.  There is also a "New Provider Workshop" available on August 28, 2015.  You can find this information on the Medicaid website under "What's New for Arkansas Medicaid Providers".  https://www.medicaid.state.ar.us/Provider/newprov.aspx#cbttool

Just a reminder, ICD-10 codes will go into effect October 1, 2015.  If you have questions or concerns, you may call our office and we will assist you or guide you to the appropriate office.  You may also want to visit the ICD-10 website through DHS http://humanservices.arkansas.gov/dms/Pages/ICD-10.aspx to be familiar with the updates as they become available.

Since the last post concerning PIN numbers for therapist, the requirements have changed again.

As of September 1, 2013 HP (Medicaid Provider Enrollment) informed us that a PIN would be allowed in districts as long as they therapist is not signing prescriptions and they are only working for the district, not contracting on their own.

As questions are being asked concerning the new revalidation process, we have learned that PIN numbers for therapists are no longer an option.  Every therapist must apply for a Medicaid number on-line at the following link: https://www.medicaid.state.ar.us/InternetProviderEnrollment/StartAnApplication.aspx

An update as to where the state is on the new revalidation for provider process.  At this time, if you have an active number and only need to revalidate, DHS will be sending letters out according to counties and ask that you do not try to revalidate your district Medicaid provider numbers until you receive your letter which will give a 90 day notice.

If you need to reactivate or apply for a new Medicaid provider number for your district, please contact us and we will work with DHS and your district on this process.  There will be a fee for providers, but will exclude Therapy (OT, PT, Speech) and Audiology, all other providers will have to pay a fee when they revalidate or activate a number, such as vision/hearing, school based mental health, and personal care.
